CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

5% of gross profits go directly to creative writing programs for kids.

All kids deserve the opportunity to find and speak their truth.

Austin Bat Cave (ABC) provides programs in creative writing, journalism, college essay writing, resume writing, expressive journaling, and more. They strive to make their programs safe and accessible for all students, and prioritize partnerships with Title 1 schools and communities that have limited access to creative arts programming.

With Austin’s rising housing costs and shifting demographics, ABC continues to adapt.

In the past two years, ABC expanded its geographic reach to increase program equity and accessibility, activated youth civic engagement through op-ed programs, integrated therapeutic journaling into their programs, and provided monthly workshops for system-involved youth.

OUR CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY PHILOSOPHY

Giving up, not giving back.

Corporate philanthropy isn’t about “gifting” donations to organizations. Private sector companies often profess that they’re “changing the world,” and “saving lives,” but the reality is, the private sector and corporations weren’t designed to change the world. We are designed to make a profit.

Nonprofits and public organizations were made to make big impact in the world, but the private sector has stripped a lot of power from these entities, promising that they can do a better job at making the world better.

I don’t believe it. I believe companies should give up, not give back. Grow Wild Creative gives 5% of our gross profits to Austin Bat Cave. It is a part of our philosophy that philanthropy should be baked into our operating expenses, not gifted with our excess profits.

That’s why 5% of Grow Wild Creative’s gross profits go directly to Austin Bat Cave’s programs and general operating expenses. When you work with us, you’ll know that you’re also contributing to a powerful organization bringing creative writing to kids.
